Following the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, here are my thoughts on a few products that should be considered in the design of Kitchen and Bathroom areas:

Copper workers in Paris were protected from several Cholera Epidemics and using a mixture of CuSo4 + Slaked Lime (Bordeaux Mixture), prevented fungal attacks on Vines.
Copper Ions
More recently, with its inherent natural antimicrobial properties, has been found to kill off bacteria and viruses within a very short time frame without the use of cleaning products. Copper ions are found to prevent cell respiration, punching holes in the bacterial cell membrane or disrupt the viral coat, and destroy the DNA & RNA inside. The latter property is important as no mutation can occur.

Following the arrival of Covid-19, I would expect to see more use in Hotels and Hospital/Care Facilities, with consideration to Bed Rails, Call Buttons, Overbed Tables, Taps and Door Handles/Push Plates.
