Covid-19 Procedures

  • Face shield and face covering to be worn at all times when coming into contact with anybody in the building
  • 2 metre social distance rule to be maintained at all times and customers and visitors reminded if not following
  • Hand to be washed or sanitized on entry and exit of building, before preforming a new task, moving to different parts of the building, after using the restroom or before eating.
  • Samples to be placed on a designated table (store area at back of ground floor showroom) on return and dated and left 72hrs and sanitized before being returned to showroom floor
  • Returned brochures to be disposed off
  • Clients offered and encouraged to have digital brochures whenever possible
  • Surfaces and areas touched, to be cleaned after every client visit using appropriate cleaning spray and a disposable cloth
  • Paper towels to be used at all sinks/wash-hand basins
  • No refreshments to be offered to clients and bathrooms will be for staff use only
  • Staff to make own refreshments and use own cup/glass
  • P.P.E. to be disposed of in the approved bin (bin marked in stock area of the back of the down stairs store room)
  • Customers and visitors to be asked and encouraged to leave contact details for track and trace following Cara’s Policy and GDPR
  • Customers to be encouraged to have virtual appointments whenever possible via telephone, email, text, WhatsApp, Zoom and Facetime.
  • Staff Shielding, must not attend work in showroom or client’s home if told to isolate, has symptoms of COVID-19 (loss of taste and smell, hight temperature or a new and persistent cough).
  • If anyone tests positive for COVID-19 in the showroom, all effected parties will be informed and told to isolate, and the showroom will be closed for 72hrs and will not re-open before a deep clean has been completed.
  • Owner to be notified of low levels of PPE before they run out
  • All customers to cancel and not attend appointments if have symptoms of COVID-19, Shielding or been told to self-isolate.
  • On entry to building all customers and visitors to be encouraged to sign in for track and trace, sanitize hands and wear gloves if they wish, wear a face covering if not exempt, maintain a social distance of 2 meters and attend with as few people as possible.
  • Before any home visits a risk assessment is to be completed.

This policy to be reviewed every two weeks unless government advice and guidance changes

Covid-19 Site Operating Procedures

  • Only one trade onsite at any one time unless the space is large enough that two trades can work AND safely practice social distancing.
  • Each trade to wear a face mask, and disposable gloves.
  • In the event that two trades are onsite together, there should be no sharing or borrowing of each other’s tools.
  • Designated hand sanitising area with hand sanitiser to be used as each trade enters the site.
  • All Trades will be provided with a supply of appropriate PPE and cleaning materials, that will be maintained at all times.
  • Designated WC to be used by the trade. Customer not to use the same WC.
  • Trade to wipe down surfaces in WC, toilet flush, seat, push plate, taps and door handle at the end of each day.
  • Windows to be open all day to allow air to circulate.
  • No trades to accept tea or coffee from the customer, much as they might like to!
  • Trades to bring their own refreshments & use disposable cups.
  • Onsite bin to be emptied at the end of each day onto skip with used wipes/gloves/cups etc placed in a sealed bag, or removed off-site.
  • The customer must practice strict social distancing. This means not coming into the room during the day when the trade is working.
  • All work surfaces, door handles, window handles to be wiped down at the end of each day with anti-bacterial wipes.
  • All tools are to be wiped down with anti-bacterial wipes at the end of each day.
  • Deliveries should be left outside and the trade onsite should open, discard packaging, and wipe down delivered item with anti-bacterial wipes.
  • On completion of works, we will clean the site/rooms in which we have been working. It is then advisable to leave it for 72 hours before starting to use.
  • Work will have to be delayed or halted if anybody in the house will be displaying symptoms of Covid-19 or has been instructed to isolate.
  • If there are other specific things you would like us to do, please do speak to us and ask.

If at any stage you do not feel comfortable having work undertaken, you must let us know as soon as possible. These are very strange and uncertain times and the most important thing is that good communication is maintained to avoid any discomfort or anxiety for either party.
